Jean-Pierre Theron is a South African Chartered Accountant and a CFA charterholder, with a career built in financial services and advisory.
He holds a Bachelor's degree and a Higher Diploma in Accounting from the University of the Witwatersrand, and completed his CA(SA) articles through the FirstRand Bank TOPP Programme, earning the rigorous CFA® charter during this time.
He spent 14 years across Rand Merchant Bank, Standard Bank and Standard Chartered Bank, including 9 years as a Director. His experience spans financial risk management, cross-border transacting, multi-market operations, and supporting the finance teams of large multinational clients.
In 2024 he founded Brightstar Advisory to bring corporate-level financial expertise to the South African SME space. Small businesses face many of the same issues that large multinationals do, and without the right resources, many small businesses hit an invisible ceiling. Brightstar Advisory helps SME owners and operators actualise their vision by setting a financial foundation that's ready for growth and helping business leaders make better decisions.
